Stand Up to Cancer Raises Over $81 Million With Some Help From Gwyneth Paltrow, Kobe Bryant & Julia Roberts

When Gwyneth Paltrow calls and asks for help, America answers.

The Oscar winner enlisted her A-list friends to work the phone banks on Friday night at the live Stand Up For Cancer event in Los Angeles.

The event, which she executive produced in honor of her late father Bruce, raised $81 million for collaborative cancer research.

Joining Paltrow were friends like Julia Roberts, Justin Timberlake and fiancee Jessica Biel, Matt Damon, Alison Sweeney, Chelsea Handler, Sofia Vergara, Eric Stonestreet, Felicity Huffman, Jennie Garth, Jeremy Renner, Jillian Michaels, Joe Manganiello, Kobe Bryant, Samuel L. Jackson, Seth Rogan, Simon Baker and Ty Burrell. Robert Pattinson even popped out of hiding to help.

There were performances from Coldplay, of which Paltrow’s husband Chris Martin is the lead singer, as well as Alicia Keys, Taylor Swift and Tim McGraw.

The one-hour live simulcast aired on ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC as well as the Armed Forces Network, Bio, E!, Encore, HBO, HBO Latino, Ion Television, Lifetime, Logo, MLB, mun2, Palladia, Showtime, Smithsonian Channel, Starz, Style, TBS and VH1.
