Russell Simmons Lists Penthouse for $11 million, Again
Nearly seven years after first putting it on the market, Def Jam boss Russell Simmons is still trying to unload his Financial District pad, and just listed it at $11 million, the same original asking price as in 2005. The 114 Liberty Street apartment has a troubled real estate history: P. Diddy was reportedly set to snatch it for $5 million just before 9/11 when the apartment in the shadow of the World Trade Center was badly damaged. The 7,200-square-foot, 14-room duplex has three terraces, two kitchens and, per the listing, an “architectural staircase.” As construction noise from One World Trade Center quiets down, interest in 114 Liberty might pick up.
