Haute Event: Porsche Design’s Fashionable 40th Anniversary Celebration

Porsche Design celebrated its 40th anniversary in style with a grandiose, star-studded bash at LA’s historic Sheats Goldstein Residence on September 4th.

The Hollywood Hills home, created by famed architect John Lautner, acted as a haute centerpiece for the event. Four decades of the company’s iconic style was featured throughout the labyrinth of a house, from paint-covered models wearing the brand’s racing helmets to underwater swimmers showcasing its watches.

British beauty Kate Beckinsale hosted the event, introducing Porsche Design CEO Dr. Juergen Gessler, as well as Creative Director Thomas Steinbruck. 2011 Eurovision song contest winner Lena Meyer-Landrut precluded a small sneak preview of the Women’s and Men’s Spring/Summer 2013 Fashion Collection, which made its official Fashion Week debut in New York this season.

The grand finale was the appearance of Porsche’s Design TwinBag, the very first Porsche Design women’s purse, via giant white hot air balloons. It will be available in stores come April 2013.

After the fashion-filled presentation, guests including Sheldon Haley, Noah Becker, Chad Hugo, Terri Seymour and Sofia Milos noshed on molecular-style nouvelle fusion dishes from Michelin starred German chef Nelson Mueller at multi-millionaire James Goldstein’s haute home.
