Haute 100 LA Update: Judge Rules That Arnold Schwarzenegger Didn’t Break the Law in Esteban Nunez Case

A Sacramento County superior court judge has ruled that Arnold Schwarzenegger didn’t break any laws when he decided that the son of a political ally’s manslaughter sentence should be reduced just hours before leaving office last year.

Judge Lloyd Connelly called the former California Governor’s  Schwarzenegger’s decision to reduce Esteban Nunez’s sentence from 16  to seven years years “repugnant to the bulk of the citizenry of this state,” but still legal.

Nunez, the son of former Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in a 2008 attack of unarmed young men that killed a 22-year-old college student.
