Eleven Madison Park-Alinea Switch Kicks Off Tomorrow

Two of the most lauded restaurants in America will pull a switcheroo starting tomorrow when Chicago’s Alinea temporarily sets up shop at Eleven Madison Park as part of a project called 21st Century Limited. Like EMP, star chef Grant Achatz’s (pictured) forward-thinking, deconstructionist Windy City establishment holds three Michelin stars. Unlike EMP, it doesn’t include a game of three card monte in its four-hour meals. Achatz’s diagnosis with tongue cancer in 2007 made him one of the country’s most compelling and resilient chefs. He’s now cancer-free.

The Alinea crew will run EMP for five nights. On October 10, 21st Century Limited will bring EMP’s Daniel Humm and Will Guidara to Chicago. $495 tickets to the event are going for up to $3,000 on the scalping market.
