An intimate experience awaits any spa lover in the midst of the chaos of midtown. The Elizabeth Arden Red Door spa has made its home in the Chatwal Hotel since this past summer. I’ve long been familiar with the line of Elizabeth Arden products, but hadn’t ventured into a Red Door, so I knew I was in for a treat.
Before your service, it’s a bonus to take advantage of the Jacuzzi plunge pool and saltwater lap pool, which is a rarity in New York City. Instead of a locker room, you have your own private changing suite with a steam shower and vanity.
The Signature Facial was selected because why not try something that is the namesake service? It brought together all the important parts of a facial—the cleansing, the comfort and the overall feeling of being pampered. It was customized to exactly what I needed, which seeing that the summer just ended I felt it was time to wipe away that warm weather glow and head into the cooler months with a fresh complexion. Beyond just the facial you are also treated to an neck and arm massage and hand wraps that take care of your dry and stressed out fingers and palms.
Next time I want to get the Oxygen Infusion Facial, which delivers a collagen serum to promote firmness and elasticity before you receive a steady mist of pressurized oxygen is sprayed directly on the skin, delivering oxygen deep into the cellular layers, which immediately plumps the skin.
