Newsweek and Bon Appetit Announce L.A. Restaurants for the ‘Best of’ Lists

Newsweek has finally released their 101 best places in the world to eat along with the unveiling of Bon Appetit’s 50 best new restaurants nominations and you’ll never guess who made the cut, but with the help of 53 of the world’s best chefs for the Newsweek’s selections the lists look very promising. Surprisingly, Farmshop in Brentwood was the only L.A. restaurant to make the Newsweek list as part of the North American list.

In addition to Newsweek’s selections, each chef shared their take on their favorite dishes they loved at each establishment, along with why each restaurant was selected in a very clever quote for each. New York was the bigger winner in the North American section, but Coi and SPQR of San Francisco were chosen for the West Coast picks.

As for Bon Appetit’s 50 best new restaurants nominations, Los Angeles has two local establishments that made the list: Michael Voltaggio and Josef Centeno’s Baco Mercat.

Overall these establishments are very different in many ways but the one thing that we all can agree on, is that they are the best by far in food and service hands down.
