Matthew McConaughey Goes Back to High School For Charity

P&G GIVE Education

He may have headed back to back to high school for impure pursuits in 1993’s iconic film, Dazed & Confused, but come 2012, Matthew McConaughey is doing things for all the right reasons.

The newly married actor headed to Venice High School on Wednesday afternoon to stress the importance of mentorship as part of P&G’s GIVE Education campaign.

Dressed casually in gym gear, the Magic Mike star ignited discussion about America’s dropout crisis and talked about his bid to raise funds for CIS (Communities in Schools).

He then made the most of his famous form, leading a select group of VHS students through an exercise drill to demonstrate the impact a healthy, active lifestyle and a trusted mentor can have when it comes to keeping kids in school.

Later in the evening, McConaughey swapped his workout duds for black tie to celebrate his Nylon guys cover with wife Camila Alves at Brent Bolthouse’s newly opened Santa Monica hotspot, The Bungalow.
