Steve Nash Reveals His Reasons for Signing with the LA Lakers

Steve Nash is the latest MVP to sign with the LA Lakers and he’s finally revealed his reasons for doing so.

Though he said just a few short weeks ago that it “would be hard” to don a purple and gold jersey, he decided to head for the Hollywood Hills for family reasons.

The recently divorced NBA player wanted to be close to his children, who live in Phoenix, Arizona.

Kobe Bryant also had a hand in making up his mind, as Nash said that the two spoke before he agreed to sign with the team.

They ultimately decided that they had “complementary” leadership styles, and wouldn’t butt heads.

In his first interview since becoming a Laker Wednesday evening, Steve Nash revealed that he spoke to Kobe Bryant before agreeing to sign with the team — and the two discussed their “complementary” leadership styles.

The point guard told ESPN: “I’m more on the positive side. As [Kobe] said it, he cracked the whip … I think it’s a good fit.”
