Restaurant blogs may have been skeptical about Will Guidara and Daniel Humm’s plans to reinvent their acclaimed Eleven Madison Park, but the duo haven’t alienated at least one important fan: Barack Obama. The President will be in town tonight for a $40,000-a-plate fundraiser at NoMad, the much buzzed-about youngster that Guidara and Humm opened earlier this year.
Eater writes that Obama will dig into a whole chicken for two in the restaurant’s rooftop cupola after a speech to deep-pocketed donors at 8 p.m. The President was last in town for a fete hosted by Vogue editor Anna Wintour at Sarah Jessica Parker’s West Village townhouse in June. The increasingly political Wintour will co-host another fundraiser August 6 at the indie film king Harvey Weinstein’s Connecticut home.
