Travie McCoy, solo singer/rapper and lead vocalist for Gym Class Heroes, delivered an intimate solo performance for a packed house at Hyde Bellagio on Sunday night.
After dining at Sensi at the Bellagio, McCoy arrived on the red carpet with his girlfriend, actress Juliette Lewis, and a large group of friends. With his long dreadlocks tucked under a gray beanie, McCoy looked casual yet chic in torn, rust-colored pants, Hush Puppies and a gray tank. After posing with Lewis and pulling a fan on to the red carpet for a photo, McCoy and his group made their way into the nightclub, settling into a table beneath Hyde’s fireplace. Joined by more friends throughout the night, the couple danced and playfully snapped pictures with an old-school Polaroid camera. McCoy was grateful to fans, hopping out of his VIP section several times to chat and pose for pictures.
McCoy surprised guests by grabbing the mic from house DJ Jason Smith and mounting a leather couch extending onto the crowded dance floor. “I know there’s a lot of potential billionaires in this place tonight! If you know it, sing it!” as he opened his set with crowd favorite “Billionaire.” Between tracks, McCoy complimented the crowd, saying, “There are a lot of beautiful people here tonight!” and asked them to show how much love was in the house by forming the signature heart symbol with their hands as he launched into the track “Stereo Love.” McCoy closed his set with “Ass Back Home,” holding hands with fans throughout the performance. Before returning to his VIP table, McCoy signed off, saying “Shout out to Hyde for having me here tonight. If there’s one place I want to be this Memorial Day weekend, it’s right here with you!”
McCoy, Lewis and their entourage continued to celebrate the long weekend, partying into the early morning hours to the beats of DJ AtomE as the iconic Fountains of Bellagio sprayed high into the night.
