Haute Time: OMEGA Timepiece Featured On “Mad Men”
This week on AMC’s hit 1960s drama Mad Men, an OMEGA watch was featured during a key moment on the show.
In the sixth episode of season five, Don Draper, played by Jon Hamm, anxiously awaits the return of his wife, Megan Draper, played by Jessica Paré, after a heated fight. After hours of waiting, Don frustratingly checks his watch.
Don’s featured timepiece is a vintage Seamaster De Ville from the mid-60’s with a black dial, day date function and sleek styling.
That watch—introduced in the early 60’s as an updated, pared down version of the Seamaster, eventually gave rise to a separate De Ville collection, which is still a key component of the OMEGA line today.
