On March 10, Armstrong and some of her fellow cast mates from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kyle Richards and Adrienne Maloof came out to support the benefit for the 1736 Family Crisis Center in the Hollywood Hills. The facility offers counseling along with a crisis shelter to help victims overcome many obstacles like poverty and violence. Being that this was a cause very dear to Armstrong’s heart, since she too battled with domestic abuse on camera. Armstrong and Dana Wilkey, a close friend, came together to host a fund raiser to support battered women and children.

According to RadarOnline, when the drama unfolded, there were two friends there at the house, Jennifer Diamond and Mark Alsentzer, her husband at the time. The conversation of the trio was overheard by Russell. However, Russell, 47, was found dead in his home after committing suicide by hanging himself. Allegedly, he was upset after overhearing Taylor say ‘Just take care of Kennedy if anything happens,’ to her friends. RadarOnline also reports that the two friends were also injured during the brutal ordeal, but Jennifer and Mark were able to wrestle Russell off of Taylor.

Overall, no charges were pressed after police had arrived, but a report was filed. After the fight, Mark needed work done on his teeth and 16 stitches, which cost around $12,000, in which Russell agree to pay in medical bills. The fight was so brutal an insider stated: ‘Taylor had to cover her neck for several weeks because of the choke marks. She even had trouble speaking because of Russell’s strength when he tried to choke her.’
