This week marks the start of New York Fashion Week, where tons of designers from all over the world come out to present some of the most unique, yet stylish designer ensembles. But this year, it seems that the West coast is making a splash in the Big Apple with vibrant colors and styles.
According to Booth Moore, the Times fashion critic confirms in this Sunday’s Image section that L.A. designers have grown out of the usual surfer/skates laid-back style and have evolved into a more sophisticated design perfect to grace the fashion scene in New York for the fall.
For many who don’t know, L.A designers have been known to be the capital of denim, Adam Tschorn, a writer within the same section reminds us of that same fact. Fortunately, for now, New York runways have had a multitude of denim powerhouses from 7 For All Mankind, Rock & Republic, Levi Strauss and Hudson Jeans. With the L.A. designs coming to the east coast, it seems that New York Fashion Week will be very unique and interesting.
