Acclaimed American photographer and environmentalist Ansel Adams is being featured at the G2 Gallery in Venice Beach.

“Ansel Adams: Open to the Public” opened at the gallery Tuesday, one day after Adams’ 110th birthday. Adams died in 1984.

The exhibition is the gallery’s first full-scale display of his work. According to a press release, the exhibition explores his “desire to have his work accessible to the public at large vis-à-vis his work to promote the National Parks lands as common ground for Americans.”

Proceeds from the exhibition will benefit the Sierra Club to honor the organization which Adams served on the Board of Directors for more than 30 years.
