Chef Mavro Earns 5th Straight AAA Five Diamond Award
For the fifth consecutive year, Chef Mavro on Oahu has earned the 2012 American Automobile Association prestigious Five Diamond Award, putting it in the ranks of such notable restaurants as The French Laundry in Napa Valley and Charlie Trotter’s in Chicago.
The award is “reserved for those outstanding restaurants that exemplify the highest level of excellence in every facet of operation.”
That’s mad props.
“We’re delighted because the AAA Five Diamond reconfirms that casual fine dining is possible,” says George Mavrothalassitis, chef/owner of the restaurant on King Street, which also holds the Gayot 18/20 rating (three toques) and a place on its Top 40 Restaurants in the U.S. “Our restaurant offers a unique combination of a relaxed Hawaii style with national-level excellence in food, service and ambiance.”
The restaurant boasts seasonal menus that showcase local ingredients and innovative techniques.
