The mood that blanketed New York City yesterday was an interesting one, fashion week is in full swing, but the ten-year anniversary of 9-11 made the idea of celebrating a little bit hard to swallow. However, little things here and there spoke to our strength as Americans.
After yet another stellar runway presentation, Diane von Furstenberg walked the runway handing out American flags to audience members—and let it be noted that said audience included Oscar de la Renta and Valentino Garavani.
The collection was equally as appropriate as the flags; running the gamut from solids to patterned pieces, both graphic and floral, as well as from feminine silhouettes to the more, tailored and androgynous. All in all she offered something for everyone, in true Diane von Furstenberg form.
