The Montage Beverly Hills Offers World’s Most Expensive Whisky

If whisky is your drink of choice then you probably understand the value of sipping on one of the finest. If you’re looking for the cream of the crop, Haute Living has just the place for you to find it.

The Montage Beverly Hills is known for many things, including being one of the most exclusive luxury hotels located in the famous Golden Triangle near Rodeo Drive. The hotel is now adding to it’s infamy with the launch of a new lounge called £10 (Ten Pound) which is famed single malt distillery The Macallan’s only official outpost in the U.S.

£10 is the only place in the world where you can get a glass of the world’s most expensive whisky, The Macallan 64 Years Old single malt, which will set you back $60,000 per shot. If you enjoy a Macallan but don’t have $60,000 to drop, you may also enjoy The Macallan 12 Years Old single malt, which is priced at ten Scottish pounds per glass, around $16.

The lounge is dark with wood paneling and in addition to Scotch, guests can also enjoy a range of wine and Champagnes by the glass from the house of Krug. Reservations are required and there is a $50 per person minimum on alcohol. There are two distinct seating times from which guests may choose, but if you don’t have a reservation, you will be turned away. £10 is also available for very select private events and private Scotch tastings.

Famed chef Scott Conant’s restaurant, Scarpetta Beverly Hills, is also located in the Montage. In conjunction with the opening of £10, Conant created a special gourmet snack menu, which includes osetra royal caviar, tuna and yellowtail tartar and a variety of sweets and cheeses.

The name £10 comes from the Scottish ten pound currency note which features a representation of The Macallan distillery’s antique copper stills.
