McLaren Automotive has announced that Singapore-based billionaire, Peter Lim, has made a significant investment in the company, and has joined the McLaren Automotive Board of Directors with immediate effect.

Ron Denis, McLaren Automotive and McLaren Group Executive Chairman, commented:  “On behalf of the McLaren Automotive board, I welcome Peter Lim and look forward to working closely with him as our company expands into the Asia region.”

“Peter Lim’s track record in Asia as a highly respected business leader adds further quality to our board in this highly competitive business environment at an exciting time for the company”.

McLaren declined to reveal the amount of the investment, but agreed that it was a “significant amount.”  More details of the deal will be announced closer to the Singapore Grand Prix.

Mr Lim is the eighth-richest businessman in Singapore, according to Forbes, and owns a chain of Manchester United-themed restaurants and bars in Asia.
