Haute Events: Public Enemy Tears Up Tao Nightclub; Special Ed Goes Old School at Lavo

Hip hop artists Public Enemy consisting of Flava Flav, Chick D and DJ Lord walk the red carpet at Tao Nightclub.

Public Enemy hosted Worship Thursday at Tao Nightclub at the Venetian last night. Flavor Flav, Chuck D, Professor Griff and DJ Lord enjoyed dinner with their friends and family before taking over a booth in the nightclub. The group served up a dose of old-school hip hop as they surprised the crowd with an impromptu performance of Public Enemy’s greatest hits including “Don’t Believe the Hype,” “Shut it Down” and “Fight the Power.” Flavor Flav gave a special shout out to “the owners of Tao for always taking care of me when I show up with 11 friends. Much love for Tao.”

Destin Pfaff, of Bravo TV’s “Millionaire Matchmaker” was also spotted at Tao Nightclub at a table with friends.

Over at Lavo at the Palazzo, TV fashion correspondent Louise Roe was seen dining with a friend.

On Wednesday night, Special Ed hosted this week’s edition of Old School Wednesdays at Lavo.  Taking the stage just after 1 a.m., he wowed club-goers with his classic hits including, “I’m The Magnificent” and “I Got it Made” as the crowd sang along with every chorus. There in support of Ed was Flavor Flav, and after the performance the two stayed to take in the sounds of DJ Crooked, enjoying the old school format nearly until the lights came on. Flav mingled with the crowd, telling them to come to Tao Thursday night to see Public Enemy host Tao’s Worship Thursday.
