Haute Event: Fatman Scoop Celebrates His Birthday at LAX Nightclub

Fatman Scoop lands a cake decorated with ice cream for his birthday.

Last night, hip-hop artist Fatman Scoop celebrated his birthday at LAX Nightclub at the Luxor with a very special live performance. Just before 1 a.m. the guest host for the night entered the venue with his small posse of six. Resident DJ Gusto got the party started by spinning one of Fatman Scoop’s tracks before the artist immediately jumped on stage and started his birthday performance.

Before the lively entertainer with the unique voice began an assortment of hit songs, he asked the security to remove the ropes and allow his fans to get up close for the mini-concert. His crowd-pleasing set included his own singles, “It Takes Scoop” and “Drop,” and also adding his rough, raw, loud voice covering Crooklyn Clan’s “Wanna Jump,” Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite” and more.

The highlight of the night for the avid Sin City partygoers was when Fatman Scoop made his way to the center of the nightclub’s dance floor and sang to DMX’s track, “Party Up (Up In Here),” where he had the fans simultaneously jumping up-and-down inside the mega-club. He closed with a crowd favorite and his Grammy Award-winning single, Missy Elliott’s “Lose Control.”

Following his 30-minute set, the birthday boy was presented with a cake specifically decorated to match his stage name. The hip-hop artist was smitten by his ice cream-themed birthday cake as he blew out his candles and asked if he could take it home with him. Following the cake presentation, Fatman Scoop returned to his private VIP table and continued to celebrate his birthday with his wife and close friends until the early hours of the morning.
