The 2011 WGSN Global Fashion Awards Shortlist Party

The 2011 WGSN Global Fashion Awards, sponsored by SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS, launched in London on the 20th of June at St Martin’s Lane hotel. Amongst the select group of fashionable guests and fashion press attendees were chairman of the British Fashion Council, Harold Tillman; WGSN CEO, Susanna Kempe and 2010’s, Head of fashion TV UK Amanda Rudin ‘Most Influential Footwear Designer’, Nicholas Kirkwood, designers Christopher Beales, Magenta 8, Una Burke, David Longshaw  and Nichola Woods designer of luxury ethical brand “Beautiful soul”, all there to find out who had been shortlisted as candidates for this year’s WGSN Global Fashion Awards.

The awards honour fashion’s most inspirational and innovative and were created by WGSN in 2010 to recognise those who are pushing the boundaries of fashion, propelling the industry forward and setting the style agenda on a global scale. Hosted by WGSN (, the world’s leading style and trend forecaster, and supported by GFK, the London launch event included a mini makeup and manicure station by AOFM Pro with speeches by WGSN CEO Susanna Kempe and the director of the WGSN Global Fashion Awards, Lauretta Roberts. Guests enjoyed an entree champagne and seafood canapé reception followed by refreshing fruit infused cocktails mixed with F Vodka elixir. The guest’s goody bags contained gifts courtesy of Veronica Monco Lobo perfume, Diane von Furstenberg, Godiva chocolatier, Label. M, Matches, Gerber, Tabio, Caritaz, Pukka, Jessica nails and ForwardPR.

Following the London shortlist announcement, the winners will be accepting their trophies at a ceremony that will take place at Gotham Hall in New York City on the 20th of October 2011 in front of an audience from around the world of fashion’s most influential industry insiders.

The full shortlist by category including ‘Outstanding Customer Experience,’ ‘Most Influential Design Team,’ ‘Outstanding New Store,’ ‘Breakthrough Designer,’ ‘Outstanding Fashion Innovator,’ ‘Outstanding Student Collection’ and ‘Most Innovative Marketing Campaign.’
