The Royal Wedding Gown on Display for All Eyes to See This Summer

The royal wedding frenzy continues on with a very special public affair. It has been recently announced that the Duchess of Cambridge’s royal wedding gown will go on public display for all to see at Buckingham Palace this summer. The display, as well as the Palace’s Annual Summer opening, will take place July 3 to Oct. 3, 2011.

The highly anticipated wedding gown was designed by the late Alexander McQueen’s protegee and successor, Sarah Burton. The gown features intricate lace applique bodice, a high-waisted, full-skirted silhouette, and a dramatic train.

Along with the bridal gown, visitors will also be able to see the silk-tulle veil, the handmade satin shoes embroidered by the Royal School of Needlework, and a pair of diamond pear-shaped earrings by Robinson Pelham all worn by Kate on her big day. The wedding cake, a traditional fruit cake created by Fiona Cairns, will also be a part of the display in the Palace dining hall.
