Louis Vuitton Resort 2012

With all the designer-resort 2012 presentations happening in New York City, we cannot exclude the most anticipated one, Louis Vuitton, as always the label surprised the audience and went all luxury for their show, the fashion event took place at the pool of The Four Seasons Hotel-restaurant, a precisely scenery that was environmentally complemented with a grass runway to match with the vibe of the collection.

This time the taboo subject from fall winter/2011 was left behind to jump and open the doors for a chic Parisienne girl that became alive with this collection, a fusion in which the jumpsuit silhouettes and one piece bathing suits brought us back to a summer time during the 70’s, but this time broke forward.

Outerwear pieces became a strong statement in this collection; perforated-mesh leather jackets, hoodies, parkas and even a p.v.c lightweight tracksuit gave the last touches to the sassy, playful, sporty feeling of this collection. Between other statements we can include all the incredible accessories that I suggest as must haves, like the beach-tote bags which have printed Eiffel towers with the monogram-monochromatic L.V logo in colors like: sky blue & choral pink and off course we cannot forget the girls with the helmets, as if they we’re ready to take a fun ride around the French Riviera, also jewelry pieces like: the long gold chains with the L.V bejeweled pendant, the big cuffs and the heart shaped earrings, play with the luxury concept of the brand.

However one of the most talked highlight subjects during the show was the collaboration that Sofia Coppola made in this resort collection with LouisVuitton design Director Julie de Libran, which according to the way the show was styled and put together seemed like Sofia mixed all her favorite fashion statements and gave them a twisted touch of modernism, yet youthful & with elegant garb at the same time.
