Hautels: Rooms, spa at Ihilani updated

As if the luxurious JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa at Ko Olina on Oahu’s west side needed any improvements, the property just completed a makeover to its rooms and spa.

All 387 guest rooms and suites at the premiere oceanfront resort has recently been upgraded. The rooms are now a fresh palette of sea blue and sand colors and feature wooden headboards, L-shaped wooden desks and cushioned lounge chairs on the lanai. Finely crafted authentic Hawaiian fabrics, artwork and 42-inch flat-screen LCD televisions were also added.

“This renovation will elevate our room product, offering guests contemporary and fresh accommodations while still maintaining the distinguished sense of place, gracious hospitality and distinctive amenities that we are known for,” said General Manager Dan Banchiu in a release.

The world-class, 35,000-square-foot spa was also reinvigorated. The ladies’ lounge was expanded to include a zen garden and meditation area, a new couple’s treatment room and fitness center were added, and a new private suite — call Ho’onanea — featuring customizable services for the exclusive use of groups (think bridal showers and bachelorette parties) was included.

“Now with our upgrades,” said Robin Desha, spa director, “we are able to redefine and provide a relaxing experience to our guests in a polished, refreshed environment.”
