Haute Purse: Alexander McQueen
Since designer Alexander McQueen’s tragic death in 2010, his collections have received even more attention, if that were possible.
Since designer Alexander McQueen’s tragic death in 2010, his collections have received even more attention, if that were possible. The classically-trained (read: Savile Row) artist worked as head designer at Givenchy before launching his eponymous label in 2001, which was an almost instant success.
His dramatic shows, flair for mixing cultures and styles garnered him a world-wide following.
Fortunately for us, his designs continue under his protégé, Sarah Burtons’ – careful control.
Take this stunning Alexander McQueen’s knuckle-duster clutch updated in ivory lace-covered satin. Detailed with the gold Swarovski crystal embellishment, one could easily build an outfit around it. Pair with subdued sandals and a simple gown and you’re good to go. $2, 295.00
