Haute Event: The Actors Fund Gala 2011

On Monday, May 23, The Actors Fund held their annual gala at the New York Marriott Marquis. The event was exceedingly exclusive with tickets starting at $1,000 to $100,000 tables in support of the performing arts community.

The ActorsFund continues to be an organization that helps not only performers but also all the behind the scenes individuals that help to bring a full production together.More than 12,000 people have been direct beneficiaries of their charitable donations to the performing arts community.

Speaking on behalf of The Actors Fund, performing artist and guest of honor Bebe Neuwirth (“Fraiser,” “Chicago”) stated,
“When anyone in our community of performing arts and entertainment needs a place to turn, The Actors Fund is there. But as a dancer, I know from personal experience the challenges of a career in the arts. Through The Dancers’ Resource, The Fund addresses the distinctive needs of dancers facing health problems or injuries because of their demanding work, coupled with the significant financial challenges of earning a living in dance. I hope dancers, and everyone in our community, will remember The Actors Fund when they hear of colleagues and friends in need.”

Other guests included Tony, Emmy, and Oscar winning actor Al Pacino, who received the Lee Strasberg Artistic Achievement Award, along with previous award winners Alec Baldwin, Annette Bening, Jonathan Tisch, Stewart Lane, and Bonnie Comley.
