Mother’s Day Options Still Available in Hawaii

You forgot Sunday is Mother’s Day? And now you’re scrambling to make plans?

You’re in luck! There are a few restaurants will open spots on Sunday for brunch, lunch or dinner to celebrate the most important person in your life.

• Il Lupino Trattoria & Wine Bar in Waikiki (above) is offering a Mother’s Day brunch and dinner menu created by executive chef Nicola Sayada. The brunch menu reads like breakfast on an Italian getaway: scrambled eggs with black truffles and Scottish smoked salmon, salmon Benedict with grilled tomatoes over crumpets, sweet crepes stuffed with Mascarpone cheese and more. Dinner features fresh fish served with lobster truffle butter sauce, roasted rack of lamb with tart cherry port wine sauce or seafood stew. Brunch runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., dinner from 3 to 10 p.m., 808.922.3400.

• If your mom loves a good steak, consider Wolfgang’s Steakhouse at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. This iconic steakhouse is serving a special filet mignon set menu with a choice of appetizer and side dish for $45.95. In addition, all moms will receive Chef James’ Cream Puff for dessert and two Wolfgang’s 100 percent Belgian chocolate coins. The menu is available between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. 808.922.3400.

• Mariposa at Neiman Marcus at Ala Moana Center still has some openings for its $32 prix fixe brunch menu. Its Mermaid Room has a special Mother’s Day Tea ($50) with beef tenderloin, king crab Napoleon and six pasteries with seating starting at 12:30 p.m. Brunch at Mariposa runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 808.951.3420.

• The elegant Beachhouse at the Moana has a brunch with 10 salads, two soups, several entrees including a carving station, custom omelet station and 18 desserts. $92 with champagne, $80 without. 808.921.4600.
