Hautels: The Iconic Biltmore Set to Open in Abu Dhabi

The hotel scene in Abu Dhabi looks to be welcoming another brand into a city that already boasts some of the most iconic names on the market. The legendary Hollywood hotel brand Biltmore is to open an outpost in the Al Bateen district of the UAE Capital by 2013.

The announcement was made at the Arabian Travel Market, an annual travel and tourism event designed to look for business potential within the Middle East for inbound and outbound tourism professionals. Al Bateen is one of the most exclusive quarters of Abu Dhabi, and its oldest occupied area. Nearby hotels include a Sheraton, a Hilton, an InterContinental plus the famous Emirates Palace hotel.

Company officials from Millennium & Copthorne, which owns the Biltmore brand said, “The timeless elegance and glamour of the Biltmore is certain to resonate with this market.”

A hotel with an aura of old school glamour will appeal to those with discerning tastes; the Biltmore Hotel in Hollywood is one of America’s most iconic hotels — it has hosted countless movie stars and is something of a screen legend itself, having been featured in films such as Ghostbusters, Independence Day and Chinatown. Also a firm favorite among luxury travelers and foodies, the Biltmore promises to bring it’s reputation for fine cuisine to the Middle East with the addition of four restaurants and bars.

Ali Lakhraim, president and CEO of Millennium & Copthorne Hotels and Resorts, said, “Bringing the first Biltmore hotel outside of Los Angeles to Abu Dhabi is a coup. This unique brand, synonymous with exclusivity and quality, will cater to both the business and leisure market in a select few gateway cities around the world, with Abu Dhabi leading the way.”

The Biltmore Abu Dhabi is currently in the final design stages.
