Haute Event: Fashionably Conscious Raises More Than $50,000 for Coconut Grove Cares

The fourth annual Fashionably Conscious event, Miami’s premier fashion fundraiser, raised more than $50,000 for Coconut Grove Cares on Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14 at the Shops at Mayfair in Coconut Grove. Hundreds of shoppers came out to snag donated designer items from the well-stocked closets of Miami’s leading socialites and CEOs.

On Friday, the event began with a VIP Preview Sale that granted fashion-savvy philanthropists exclusive access to fashions, gift bags, and drinks sponsored by Peroni and Southern Wine & Spirits – all in a unique space designed by KARLA Conceptual Event Experiences. Saturday’s all-day sale was host to a “Gilt-y Pleasure” candy station by Gilt City and sponsorships by POP Chips, Café Bustelo, Shops at Mayfair, and The Fashionista Boutique.

All clothing and accessories sold at the event were discounted and included some great pieces, including a black Chanel jacket that sold for $500 and shoes by Fendi and Christian Louboutin for $150. Other labels at the sale included Prada, Armani, Christian Dior, Emmanuel Ungaro, Jimmy Choo, Trina Turk, Elie Tahari, Betsy Johnson, and more. The amount of money raised was nearly double that of last year and goes directly to the Coconut Grove Cares’ The Barnyard, which offers free after school and summer programs for over 250 children while providing a safe haven in the West Grove community.
