Haute Event: Cartier Hosts a Dinner Amongst Diamonds in Celebration of MoMA’s Annual Party in the Garden.

On May 3, 2011, Dinner amongst Diamonds was perhaps the best way to describe the evening’s event, where guests arrived at NYC’s famed Cartier Mansion in their finest attire and mingled, cocktail in hand, amongst some of the most beautiful jewels know to mankind. After being bedazzled by some of Cartier’s most prized gems, attendees including starlets Amy Adams and Rosario Dawson, proceeded to a private rooftop where they feasted on an insatiable dinner prepared by Imperial No.Nine chef Sam Talbot.

The rooftop dinner, set beneath Manhattan’s star-lit sky, was an intimate gathering of some of New York’s creme da la creme who were there to honor the ‘philanthropic and cultural contributions’ of Patricia Phelps de Cisneros, Mimi Haas, Jill Kraus, and Sharon Percy Rockefeller for their community efforts towards the Museum of Modern Art’s (MoMA) award-winning educational programs and upkeep of the city’s beloved Aby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden (where the annual ‘Party in the Garden’ will take place next week.)

After dinner, guests were treated to a surprise performance by Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl ‘s band, Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger. Sean Lennon, son of the famed John Lennon, made an warm honorary mention prior to his performance that all the songs he was about to perform were written at the tip of a Cartier pen!

The exclusive gathering included a notable guest list of influential New Yorkers like Yoko Ono, Lisa Airan, Fabiola Bercasa, Chiara Clemente, Jane Holzer, Reed and Delphine Krakoff, Leonard and Evelyn Lauder, Julie Macklowe, Hanneli Mustaparta, David Neville, Gucci Westman, Lauren Remington Platt, Mickalene Thomas, Nicola Vassell, Marcus Wainwright and Glenna Neece. The Garden Party Committee members, MoMA board members, artists, trustees, designers and honorary co-chairs of the event Marie Josée Kravis and Jerry I.Speyer were also in attendance

The House of Cartier will also sponsor the ‘MoMA Party in the Garden’ event on May 10, 2011. For more information, go to the link above.
