Haute Mexican cuisine is on its way to Hermosa Beach. Fronted by Greg and Ron Newman, also of Baja Sharkeez, Palmilla Cocina and Tequila will be an upscale gastro-retreat for those seeking the best in Sonora-style Mexican fare. The menu will of course offer classics like fajitas, enchiladas, and nachos, however, they will all be laced with the finest and freshest proteins and seafood. Pastry chef, Sixto Pocasangre, of Wolfgang Puck Catering is collaborating to bring astronomical sweets to the table.
The funky exterior and chi-chi interiors are owed to the brains behind Red O, Gulla Jonsdottir of G+ Design. A refined sense of rusticity featuring plush banquettes and wood details will lend the necessary bent to this high-flying Mexican joint destined to be a hit amongst beach-goers and foodies alike.
Palmilla will offer both indoor and outdoor dining with a seating capacity of 106. It is slated to open its doors at the end of June/early July.
