Gleeks Rejoice: Matthew Morrison Headlines at the Goodman Theatre
In honor of Goodman’s 10th Anniversary in the Chicago Loop, screen and stage star Matthew Morrison takes a break from his Glee Spanish classroom to headline at the Goodman Theatre’s for one night only. The May 21 Gala celebrated “One Enchanted Decade” on Dearborn Street. Prior to Glee, Morrison was a regular on Broadway performing in Footloose, the Rocky Horror Show, and as heartthrob Link Larkin in Hairspray.
The Emmy, Golden Globe and Tony-Award nominated “triple-threat” (LA Times) has been said to be “blessed with a boyish innocence and beautiful voice” (Playbill), Morrison lights up both the stage and small screen with his mesmerizing talent. The black-tie gala began with a cocktail reception and Morrison’s performance at the Goodman, followed by an elegant dinner and dancing to the tunes of the Al Sofia Orchestra at The Fairmont Hotel. All proceeds benefited the Goodman’s Educational and Community Engagement programs with tickets starting at $1,000.
