An Ode to Light: Elie Saab Launches His First Fragrance

A glamorous crowd of Dubai VIPs and specialists in the realms of fashion and luxury gathered together this past Tuesday for the launch of renowned Lebanese designer Elie Saab’s first fragrance. The event was held in at The Pavilion in the presence of the designer himself.

The event elegantly toured the creation of Elie Saab’s first perfume. We were shown the inspirations behind the designer’s mesmerizing couture; the selection of the perfume bottle; and the process of selecting the most befitting scent through beautifully produced films and presentations. The result is fragrance which, the Elie Saab’s own words, “…expresses a radiant femininity and which includes the duality of my world: The light of the Middle East and the modernity of the West.”

Composed as an ode to light, L’eau de Parfum created by Francis Kurkdjian is a homage to the designer’s universe. “What I found fascinating in working for Elie Saab, was the idea of interpreting light; I didn’t have any specific images in mind, just sensations: the whiteness of the sun at its zenith, radiant femininity, a modern interpretation of voluptousness,” explains Kurkdjian.

The perfume celebrates the splendor of radiant femininity with a floral solar woody theme. The scent exudes a permanent exchange between flowers and wood providing the wearer with an exuberant sense of subtle and enrapturing warm tones of elegance.

Magnetic and radiant Polish model Anja Rubik stars as the face of Elie Saab’s new perfume. The event unveiled an installation of the ad campaign which captured Anja in a graceful nude flowing Elie Saab dress walking through dark city streets clothed in an aura of light.

“A woman must be feminine. She must be like a butterfly,” says Elie Saab. Elegant yet determined, L’eau de Parfum captures the essence of femininity.
