Yoo Design Studio Announces Two New Projects in Moscow

Global design brand Yoo has recently announced that it is set to launch two new Russian developments in 2011 in the heart of Moscow. Envisioned by Barkli Construction and Development, a renowned Russian property developer, Barkli Virgin House and Barkli Park will set new standards in Russia’s luxury real estate market.

The first development, Barkli Virgin House, will be designed by Kelly Hoppen and located on Moscow’s illustrious Golden Mile near the Moskva River. The building will be comprised of 21 apartments varying from two to five bedrooms spread across seven floors. Kelly Hoppen also promises that the common areas, lobby, and external terrace will all be nothing short of spectacular (and if it is as luxurious as her past project, The Lakes by Yoo in the Cotswolds, we are inclined to agree with her).

Versatility is a key component of the Yoo brand and therefore will be the primary focus of their innovative second development which is aptly named Barkli Park. Barkli Park will be ingeniously designed using environmentally friendly materials and also feature sizable green roof terraces. Housed in an iconic Moscow building that varies in height from being 12 to 14 stories, the development will also feature Yoo inspired by Starck designed interiors.

John Hitchcox, co-founder and chairman of Yoo comments: “Our new ventures in Moscow represent unique design concepts – Moscow is a first for us and we’re thrilled to be working in Russia’s stylish capital. Luxury property here is becoming increasingly sought after so the launch of these developments couldn’t be better timed.”
