TONIGHT: Chef Allen Hosts Dinner for Japan Relief Efforts

Renowned chef and local culinary favorite Chef Allen Susser will be holding the first fundraising event ever to be held at Chef Allen’s in Aventura tonight, April 5 at 7 p.m. The award-winning restaurateur and philanthropist has formed a worldwide network of top chefs who will volunteer their time and talents over the next month to help raise money for the victims of the recent tragedies in Japan.

Aptly called “culinary messengers,” this group will be working tirelessly towards this important fundraising effort to host a series of creative events such as dinners, auctions, cooking classes, and more, to be held globally.

Tonight’s event will be jam-packed with legendary Miami chefs and some of the world’s finest cuisine, all benefiting a very important cause. The evening will kick off with a sushi & sake reception to be followed by a sumptuous seven-course sit-down dinner to be emceed by Ingrid Hoffman of Food Network fame. A sort of tasting menu of different chefs, each course will be prepared by a different chef of the “culinary messengers”, including Chef Allen himself, Thomas Buckley of Nobu, Andre Bienvenu of Joe’s Stone Crab, Gabriel Fenton of Bourbon Steak at Fairmont Turnberry Isle, Douglas Rodriguez of D Rodriguez, Abe Ng of Sushi Maki, and Sugarcane’s Timon Balloo.

Cost of the event is $150 per person with proceeds to benefit www.ChefsHelpJapan.com and to support the “culinary messengers” on this and future efforts. For reservations call 305.935.2900.
