Haute Event: Vivienne Westwood Melrose Ave Boutique Launch Party

Vivienne Westwood arrived in Los Angeles last Wednesday night to celebrate the opening of her new Melrose Avenue store with a few hundred of her closest friends and co-host Lauren Taschen. We heard she is growing weary of the jetsetter life style and prefers to stay at her fab home, but she couldn’t possibly miss out on her on store opening. Good for us!!!

The store opening was fun, although it seemed so short. We got there around 8 p.m., and everyone left by 8:45pm. I guess it was a good thing I had her signature black sparkle leggings on…an absolute showstopper!

Dita Von Teese, Malin Akerman, Christina Hendricks, Anna Kendrick and Kristin Davis squeezed themselves into her corseted creations for the event, which filled the two-story store and the rooftop deck.

Afterwards, a select group headed to Chateau Marmont for a seated dinner in the parlor, where Heidi Klum and Zoë Saldana joined the party.

Check out these hot pictures from the event and our favorite girl in Hollywood – Dita von Teese, is among them. Last time we saw her shopping with her boyfriend at Barneys in L.A. she looked just as amazing in person. In my opinion her blue wedding dress, is to this day, the best Vivienne Westwood creation.

Although Westwood said in her interview, “I don’t think of myself as an artist. I’m a thinker. I judge myself by what I think…That’s my idea of personal progress, if I think I’m getting my head together and starting to understand the world more than I did yesterday. You do that through culture and through the past.” We surely think she is a great artist. Don’t you?
