Haute Event: Ventriloquist Terry Fator Celebrates Two Years at the Mirage with a New Puppet

A full house greet Terry Fator Friday night when the ventriloquist celebrated the second anniversary of his hit show, “Terry Fator: Ventriloquism in Concert” at the Mirage. Media, VIPs, fans and guests lined up at the entrance of Terry Fator Theatre to see the headliner perform after Fator announced the addition of new puppet Berry Fabulous. Songs and dialog never before seen or heard were also in store and as 7:30 p.m. approached, the lights went down and the music went up as Fator took center stage.

Fator opened the show with Phantom of the Opera, bringing Winston the Impersonating Turtle, one of Fator’s most adored puppets, out in a Phantom mask and having on-stage assistant Taylor Makakoa play the role of Christine. Visually stunning and full of energy with lights, smoke and video, the audience burst into applause as soon as Fator hit the first note. From that moment on, it was a fun and joyful atmosphere inside the theater as the audience laughed, clapped and cheered with each puppet that hit the stage. Berry Fabulous made a major debut when he was rolled out on stage in a large closet. When the doors opened, all there was to see was gold and sparkle as Berry graced the stage and began his funny routine, singing songs by Judy Garland, Cher and Barbra Streisand.

At the end of the show, President and COO of the Mirage Felix Rappaport surprised Fator by bringing out a tiered cake shaped like Winston. Rappaport went on to congratulate Fator on the second anniversary of his show and wished him many more years of success at the Mirage. Fator was then presented with the key to the Mirage along with a large card signed by the Mirage team. Fator went on to thank the Mirage, his team and fans for their continued support. A special treat was in store for the audience as they received a signed photo of Fator and Berry Fabulous while leaving the theater.
