Haute Event: Valentino Fashion Show at Third Annual Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon

As a way to help preserve the historic gardens at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, The Vizcayans, along with Italian fashion house Valentino, hosted the Third Annual Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon, or as many may know it as the “Hat Luncheon.” Held during a bright and sunny day, many women were seen wearing intricately detailed daytime hats that blended with the exotic gardens.

The luncheon began with a Black Caviar Reception while guests were able to marvel at the beautiful Vizcaya gardens. The luncheon included a fashion show presenting Valentino’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection with more than 300 men and women elegantly dressed. As the sun was setting, guests were led into the Formal Gardens to the luncheon, the Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon Founders joined Valentino to present the four-course gourment luncheon catered by Thierry’s Catering. In recognition of their continuous efforts to help presever the Vizcaya Gardens, the Lead Founders were awardes a brooch imprinted with the Golden Caravel, one of the symbols used for Vizcaya. Some of them included Founding Chairman, Norma Quintero; Honorary Chairman, Swanee DiMare; Co-Chairmen, Nancy Batchelor and Marysol Patton; as well as Josie Wang and Helene Kovens.
