Haute Event: The Sony Ericsson Open Bombay Sapphire Mix-Off!

You know how sometimes close friends get together for a friendly competition of cocktail mixing? They go over each other’s homes for the sole purpose of bragging rights, and seeing who can create the best concoction of everyone’s favorite refreshing alcoholic beverages. Now, imagine this same event but with A-List tennis players at a swanky Miami lounge. Sounds fancy?

Well the Sony Ericsson Open’s 2nd Annual Player Mix-Off stayed true to the fun and light-heartedness of the game while still maintaining the lavishness of South Florida by setting it up at the Bombay Sapphire Lounge.

After three straight matches of tennis during the Sony Ericsson Open, the players of this event were more than happy to finally battle it out for a different prize: Best Cocktail Maker. But these competitors were not common enemies; they instead were Horia Tecau and Robert Lindstedt, who just so happen to be partners for the doubles tournaments of tennis. These previous colleagues put their collaboration on the back-burner to battle head-to-head in this competition of fly glasses and splashing drinks. Judged by glamorous Real Housewife of Miami, Cristy Rice, the competitors made their own creations, but did not forget to make the Sony Ericsson’s signature cocktail, the Bombay Sapphire Ace Collins.

Now although everyone was interested in seeing who would come out triumphant in this event, but because both drinks were so fantastic, the tournament ultimately ended in a tie, and finalized the Sony Ericsson Open with fun, laughter, and amazing drinks that dazzled the guests, surely making them not want to wait until they could come back next year and have an even more remarkable time.
