Haute Dining: Ritz-Carlton South Beach’s Chef Joins “Star Chefs” Fine Dining on Lufthansa

Chef Josh Becker

Flying never tasted so good. Guests who fly Business or First Class on Lufthansa from now until April 30 will be treated to specially picked dishes created with the help of the “Star Chefs” program including Miami’s own, Chef Josh Becker of DiLido Beach Club in the Ritz-Carlton South Beach.

Whisk away 30,000 feet into the air and enjoy fine dining like you’ve never before. Travelers who are flying Lufthansa to Germany from 18 gateway states will have the option to take part in a delicious menu consisting of three courses: appetizers, entrees and desserts, with natural, tasty ingredients and some serious Miami Flair.

Both menus vary on the items that are served on flight. First class offers appetizers ranging from Caviar to Pickled Artichoke, along with a seasonal salad. For the main course travelers are able to choose from selections like Beef Tenderloin or Braised Salmon, and then ending on a sweet note with a tasty choice of selected cheeses, Coconut Ice Cream with Caramelized Pineapple and Coffee flavored whipped cream or Cuban Coffee Cortadito Flan with Orange Mint Chiffonade.

Passengers traveling on Business Class can enjoy options of Fennel and Orange Confit Tuna with Mixed Greens as a choice for an appetizer, Braised Lamb or Shrimp and Mahi Mahi for their entree along with Yucca filled Dumplings. They are also treated to delicious desserts ranging from specialized cheeses, a Key Lime Tart or Fresh Fruit. There is also a breakfast menu for those who are traveling early with choices of orange juice, fruits, turkey breast and salami and Emmental and cream cheese as well as the Breakfast to Go option, with smoothies, fruits and pastries.

The Ritz-Carlton and Lufthansa teamed up for their very own “Star Chefs” program which features top chefs throughout the country, giving the passengers a truly unique taste from all over. Lufthansa has wowed their passengers with fine dining since January 2000, and in 2005 they began featuring local chefs in their “Star Chefs” program.
