Xenia’s World: St. Moritz & St. Barths

The music lasted until the morning when the young hosts decided on their next destination: Miami.

Cool in St. Moritz

It’s been more than 40 years since St. Moritz, the chicest Swiss ski resort, has seen a new hotel built from scratch. But Ernesto Parli has built a completely modern, luxurious, and cozy structure set against Piz Surlej.

The official opening cocktail of Alpinerock took place with several media covering and me hosting a TV program dedicated to luxury hotels and haute cuisine. For the occasion I wore DeGrisogono jewelry, with a magnificent dark green collier. Skiers, sports-lovers, families and jet-setters arrived to experience the modern style of the hotel along with its regional elaborated cuisine in the two restaurants overlooking Lake Silvaplana and an unexpected sweet detail: an in-house bakery.

Haute in St. Barths

The owner of 1Oak and the Darby, Richie Akiva organized a New Year’s Eve after-party that everyone (A-listers, starting with the Black Eyed Peas and concluding with Roman himself) ran from the famous event on Abramovich’s yacht straight to their huge white villa on the paradise hills St. Barthélemy. The party ended at 8 in the morning.

After only two days, it was time to recover and do it all over again at the impressive Villa Dune in Saline Beach, which hosts all the party people on the island. More than 400 people showed up, including happily dancing D-squared designers Dean and Dan, art gallery owners like Helly Nahmad, models like Alessandra Ambrosio, showgirls like Victoria Silvstedt, property figures like Maurice Dabbah, and party boys and fortune heirs like Brandon Davis. The guests couldn’t stay away from the open-air improvised dance floor under the stars. The music lasted until the morning when the young hosts decided on their next destination: Miami.
