Etemad Gallery To Open in Dubai

Opening next month in al Quoz’s Al Serkal Avenue is Etemad Gallery, one of the Middle East’s most prominent art galleries. Founded in Tehran in 2002, Etemad Gallery is renowned for its high caliber of Iranian artists. The gallery will open in Dubai on March 14th with an exhibition entitled “New Wave-British Art Today.”

Etemad’s decision to expand to the Dubai market shows its belief in the region’s stride to establish itself as a global leader for artistic and cultural exchange. At 7500 ft² of converted warehouse space, Etemad’s new location in Al Quoz will be one of the largest gallery’s in Dubai.

The gallery constantly expands its roster of renowned international artists from America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East thus creating a platform for artistic exchange across cultures. Etemad’s inaugural exhibition debuts the works of Tasha Amini, Tom Ellis, Mustafa Hulusi, Dan Perfect, and Petroc Sesti in the Emirates. Works by these artists have recently appeared in the Saatchi Gallery’s “Newspeak: British Art Now” exhibition and the famous “Tunnel 228” project in London. They exhibit art of varying techniques, mediums, aesthetics and subject matter. Such an exciting roster of artists for Etemad Gallery’s Dubai launch emphasizes the gallery’s insistence on promoting art from the Middle East and from abroad, a move which will certainly strengthen Dubai’s burgeoning art scene.
