Nuts and Bolts: Bolt Barbers Opens Shop on Melrose

Punks, rockers, and rebels take heed. Should you need to entrust the details of sculpting, shearing, or spiking your locks, Bolt Barbers is more than happy to handle the job.

Bolt Barbers first made headlines when they opened doors on their downtown salon in 2008. Helmed by inked-and-shorn head barber and owner, Mohawk Matt, Bolt Barbers made a name for themselves with their updated take on retro styling for dudes as well as their packed parties, late hours (open until midnight Thursday-Saturday) and shuffleboard court. Over the past two years, Bolt has also built a grooming for gents empire with a luxe line of shaving and styling products, a clothing line, books (including “Hip Snips”, a guide to doing your do down there), snacks and jerky, and the hippest highball glass you ever laid eyes on printed with Bolt’s uber cute monkey mascot.

Lucky for menfolk, Bolt Barbers also offers a Sunday style package for dudes looking for a cut, a shave, a shine, a little bro time and some complimentary whisky. Served of course in that infamous Bolt Barber’s glass. Want to get in on the action but don’t quite feel like schlepping on the 10? Don’t worry. Bolt Barbers opened the doors on their latest monkey house, nestled on haute retail destination on Melrose in West Hollywood on January 10th. Just in case you want to keep your lazy Sundays . . . lazy. Oh and ladies, feel free to drop you man off for a little R&R with the guys. Fred Segal, Marc Jacobs, Resurrection, Bess, Zero by Maria Cornejo and Paul Smith are all within walking distance.
