Haute Event: Terrell Owen’s Speakeasy Soiree to Benefit The Alzheimer’s Association

Terrell Owens of the Cincinnati Bengals hosted an intimate gathering at The Blind Barber in New York City Wednesday night, honoring The Alzheimer’s Association, the largest private, nonprofit funder of Alzheimer research.

Upon arrival, guests stepped back into the height of the prohibition era with a true art of shaving and “clean up” experience by some of the best stylists adorned in classic T.O. #81 white barber jackets. The gathering’s “Roaring Twenties” theme was complete with expert mixologists, presenting Jack Daniel’s whisky, Finlandia vodka and Southern Comfort bourbon tasting, beautiful cigarette girls passing signature cocktails and a cigar aficionado, custom rolling to each attendee’s smoking preference.

Guests of Owens’ “Speakeasy Soiree” included Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola from MTV’s “The Jersey Shore,” Pras Michel from the Fugees and DJ Axis. Musical performances were also given by celebrity DJs Max Glazer of Federation Sound and Mick Boogie.

Throughout the night charitable donations to The Alzheimer’s Association were collected through funds driven by ticket sales, cigar and shave purchases, sponsorships funds and individual guest donations.
