What Made Him Haute: With five Golden Globe nominations and one win along with three Oscar nods and 25 wins in other awards, this actor is a Hollywood staple. In the early 1990s, he broke out on the silver screen with his role in “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape,” soon after he stole the hearts of many girls alongside Kate Winslet in “Titanic.” In more recent years, DiCaprio took us on a wild ride with his performance in both “The Aviator” and “Catch Me If You Can.”
What Makes Him Haute Now: Sending shivers down our spines DiCaprio has outdone himself with performances in “Blood Diamond,” “Shutter Island” and “Inception.” Both “Shutter Island” and “Inception” were incredibly successful at the box office helping him make the top of the Forbes list of Top Grossing Actors in 2010 with $1.1 billion. His role in “Inception” didn’t just help him make it to the top of the Forbes list, but his incredible performance puts him in the running (unofficially) for best actor in this year’s Golden Globes and Academy Awards. He is already making big plans for 2011 and is set to star in Clint Eastwood’s next film, “J.Edgar,” alongside Judi Dench.
