Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at the Fox Theatre

The classic fairytale graces the Atlanta stage at the Fox Theatre. This timeless love story about learning to love and appreciate those that are different, is one of Disney’s most popular classics and one that has been told countless times and various ways, from the big and small screen and of course live on stage. However, the story never gets old and with each new incarnation and performance a new generation falls in love with the lovely Belle and her Beast. So gather up your friends, family and all the little girls in your life and get your tickets to an American treasure.

While the animated version is loved and coveted by all, the live stage version brings an element of participation and realism that you just can’t grasp watching the DVD at home in your living room. After literally knocking the socks off of the notoriously hard to please Broadway audiences, Beauty and the Beast takes the lavishly colorful and song-filled production to several cities around the country with Atlanta being the latest lucky recipient.

Great for long-time fans or total newbie’s, Beauty and the Beast still resonates after all of these years because of the beautiful love story that inhabits its’ center. Heroine Belle falls in love with the ghastly Beast despite criticism, class differences and appearance. The lessons in this story are great for children as it teaches them to be accepting of all people regardless of differences. I must say, that Walt Disney really knew his stuff; the classic animated films that he created are just chock full of lessons that will always remain relevant.
