Three Ways to Celebrate Frank Sinatra’s Birthday

Frank Sinatra spent the better part of 40 of his 82 years playing showrooms in Las Vegas. Today, the legendary crooner and Academy Award-winning actor would have turned 95, a reason to celebrate his magical music. As if you need an excuse to honor his life, we give you three ways to commemorate his 95th birthday.

Dance with Sinatra

Perhaps one of the most mesmerizing shows just opened at Wynn Las Vegas last night when Broadway choreographer Twyla Tharp brought “Sinatra Dance with Me.” Not a word spoken aside from a brief moment by the Chairman of the Board himself, simply the best of Sinatra’s tunes are set to dance with couples going through the joys of new love, heartbreak, potential marriage, late-night drinking and more. The show, set to the soundtrack of Sinatra’s showstoppers such as “Fly Me To The Moon,” “My Way” and “That’s Life,” features a 17-piece big band set against the backdrop of a chic nightclub complete with a bartender who stole the show. Fourteen dancers, including eight paired as couples, mesmerize with their moves.

“Sinatra Dance with Me” plays Mondays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. For tickets, call 702.770.WYNN.

Dine with Sinatra
Rub elbows with the essence of Ol’ Blue Eyes at Sinatra at Encore Las Vegas, the restaurant that serves up Italian cuisine from Chef Theo Schoenegger. You can find Sinatra memorabilia such as his Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in “From Here to Eternity,” his Emmy for “Frank Sinatra: A Man and His Music,” his Grammy for “Strangers in the Night” and photos with friends such as Dean Martin, Audrey Hepburn and Steve Wynn.

The restaurant has the Chairman’s Table, a table Wynn thought Sinatra might choose, along with a pair of nine-foot-tall crystal beaded obelisks made in Sicily in the 1920’s and originally located in an Italian restaurant in Paris.
