Haute Event: OK Go Helps Rock ‘n Roll Wine’s Winter Bash Benefiting Three Square at ROK Vegas

OK Go at Rock 'n Roll Wine's Winter Bash

With the holiday season in full swing, ROK Vegas at New York-New York joined the festive cheer Thursday evening by playing host to Rock ‘n Roll Wine’s Winter Bash. The annual holiday party benefited Three Square Food Bank, a charitable organization providing meals to more than 250,000 hungry Vegas area men, women and children. Guests enjoyed an exclusive wine tasting and live entertainment inside the nightclub. Five dollars from each ticket was donated to Three Square.

The exclusive party allowed guests to sample wines from more than 15 wineries including such distinguished labels as Aquinas, The Grotto, Rondel, Depreville, Reggae Rhapsody and Dr. Loosen. Gruet, a brut Champagne, appeared to be the favorite as guests crowded around the outdoor patio bar to have a sample sip of the delicious bubbly. Before the evening’s entertainment, the founders of Rock ‘n Roll Wine Chris Hammond and Sonny Barton took center stage to thank ROK Vegas for hosting the event, guests for attending that evening and wineries for supplying the exemplary beverages.

As 9 p.m. approached the crowd grew with anticipation as they waited to hear the first strum of the guitar from Grammy-winning rockers OK Go. As the group tweeted, “Vegas, tonight we will sip wine like grown-ups before rocking out like…rockstars,” the entire venue was eager to see what the award-winning group was going to produce. As OK Go took center stage the crowd burst into cheers. The colorful band is made up of lead singer Damian Kulash, bass guitarist Tim Nordwind, drummer Dan Konopka and keyboardist Andy Ross and came decked out in yellow, red, green and blue suits as they belted out fan favorites such as “Here It Goes Again,” “A Million Ways,” and more. Canons of confetti went off on-stage as each song brought more electrifying energy to ROK Vegas nightclub.
