Haute Event: MGM Resorts Entertainers Bring Toys, Donations to KLUC Toy Drive

Carrot Top closes the fourth truck at KLUC Toy Drive.

The vans of toys from MGM Resorts International keep coming to KLUC Toy Drive.

Radio host Chet Buchanan was shocked speechless when Jocelyn Bluitt-Fisher, MGM Resorts’ director of corporate philanthropy and community affairs, showed up to present a check to HELP of Southern Nevada for $10,000, pushing the 98.5 KLUC Toy Drive monetary donations past its $100,000 goal.

MGM Resort entertainers including Frank Caliendo, Carrot Top, Kevin Burke of “Defending the Caveman” along with entertainers from “Fantasy,” “Menopause the Musical,” “Tournament of Kings,” “Thunder from Down Under” and “Viva Elvis” dropped by throughout the day with overflowing vans of toys donated by MGM Resorts employees. At the end of the day, it was Carrot Top who helped out by closing the event’s fourth semi-truck full of toys. With a lot of laughs, both on-air and off, the entertainers helped unload coloring sets, stuffed animals, board games and more—all generous donations from more than 50,000 MGM Resorts International employees. Surprise entertainer guests will continue to donate the collected toys the rest of the week.

The KLUC Toy Drive provides two toys to more than 10,000 families in need every year during the holiday season. MGM Resorts International increases their charitable efforts during the holidays to benefit struggling community members when they need it most. The MGM Resorts Foundation, supported by dollars from employee salaries, has raised $4.8 million for the community this year alone
